What we do at Private Label
At Private Label, we develop, produce, and create complete documentation for market placement. We approve files for cosmetic, dermo-cosmetic, and pharmaceutical products. We tailor formulas to each client’s requirements, introducing new and improved actives to create top-quality products of exceptional quality. We closely monitor products and customer reactions, even after their market launch. The data, impressions, and user experiences collected are crucial for us, helping us draw conclusions about in-house produced products.
While we don’t manufacture primary packaging such as boxes or secondary packaging like folding boxes, we can provide support on this matter through our partners and manage the entire process, including customization.
Choosing the right packaging material
Although an old saying advises against judging a book by its cover, when it comes to products that need to stand out on store and pharmacy shelves, things are a bit different. An elegant and refined packaging will attract the buyer and convince them to try the product. Understanding the importance of this aspect, we are pleased to offer clients helpful advice and concrete support in choosing the right packaging material that highlights the product’s quality and aligns with the latest trends in eco-friendly materials.
As a full-service provider, we fill all types of products (except plastic tubes and sachets) in our factory in Baia Mare. Batch sizes of up to 5,000 pieces are semi-automatically filled, while batches of 5,000 pieces and more are filled automatically. In general, we can fill all sizes of primary packaging.
Bottling Costs
Bottling costs depend on the product recipe and the filling quantity. To provide an accurate quote, we need to conduct an expertise on your product.
Costs always depend on the batch size, lot coding, or packaging in a folding box, for example. Transportation costs are usually borne by the client, but we provide support and a network of logistics partners to assist them.
Storage of finished products and packaging materials
Generally, this is possible as we have ample space. Monthly costs will be incurred per pallet location.
Shipping goods to end customers?
If our clients wish us to handle the shipping of goods, we can take care of this aspect, applying an additional cost, of course.
The product development process through Private Label Cosmetics, step by step
The process of developing a cosmetic product is usually divided into several stages. From the early phase, we work closely with the client to define the basics and possible strengths and differentiators of the future products.
Here are the stages a product goes through, with the note that these may vary depending on the type of product:
- Identifying the main features the new product must have and the ingredients to be included in the product formula, with budget verification.;
- Choosing the packaging according to the client’s requests;
- Producing a variable number of semi-automated laboratory samples until the final testing by the client and/or client approval (variable sample transmission to the client and other reports as needed);
- Starting the necessary analyses and clinical tests for the market placement.
Parameters requested (non-exhaustive): heat stability tests (40°C, 50°C), cold stability tests (6°C, -16°C), microbiological tests, physico-chemical tests, shelf life, PAO, cyclic tests to maintain long-term stability and avoid phenomena such as aggregation/flocculation, coalescence, and sedimentation/creaming at -5°C to 40°C at 24-hour intervals to determine the expected minimum shelf life, stress tests in a centrifugal force field [1/min], microbiology [checking multiple parameters], droplet size distribution, viscosity [mPas], pH value, density [g/ccm], and other qualitative and quantitative checks. Depending on the type of product, we conduct clinical tests under the supervision of a specialist (dermatologist, dentist/ophthalmologist, etc.) to exemplify the client’s chosen claim. - Document creation for the file. Regulatory obligations are fulfilled based on data obtained in both stages. The resulting Product Information File (PID/PIF/CPSR) contains all relevant data for the product and is transferred to the client.
- Production phase. Producing one or more validation batches to determine process parameters for general serial production:
- Transferring formulations from the laboratory process to scaling data for serial production and adapting until reaching defined stability parameters.
- Nominal standardization and transfer to manufacturing instructions for converting process parameters to large-scale production machines (internal equipment).
- Establishing the type of production: serial or bulk.
- The minimum production quantity is calculated based on the desired quantity per product in the primary packaging.
